As the old adage goes, it's better to give than to receive. This saying is especially true this Christmas season. Most of us are looking forward to receiving presents from our loved ones, but the true spirit of Christmas lies in the act of giving.

This is the inspirational lesson we can learn from the story of this good Samaritan named Aniceto Lorhenz. Most people saved money to buy gadgets or to travel, but this kindhearted man had a charitable cause for saving his earnings.



Aniceto works as a "kargador," or porter in a public market. Sometimes, his satisfied customers gives him cash tips on a daily basis. But instead of keeping it, the generous porter decided to save all of the tips he had since September.

Instead of spending it all for himself, the generous man decided to help others in need. Aniceto used his entire savings to share his blessings to the less fortunate people. According to him, he owed a lot to the people who are giving him tips, that's why it's only logical to give back to others.





On Facebook, Aniceto was quoted as saying:

"Shout out po sa lahat ng nagbigay sa akin ng tip at pamasko. Ito po ang naipon ko mula September. Gusto ko po i-share ang blessings ko at gusto ko po ipaalam na hindi lang ako ang nabigyan niyo pati sila kaht sa maliit na bagay lang sana kahit papaano nakapag-share ako sa mga taong walang makain.”

Aside from that, the good Samaritan also expressed his gratitude to the people who tipped him. Ever since he saved his tips starting on September, he has saved more than PHP 20,000!



Because of the blessings he received, Aniceto decided to shower it to others that's why he gave food and gifts to poor people. He also said that poverty is not a hindrance if you're really determined to lend a helping hand:

"Sa mga customer na nagbigay sa akin ng tip at pamasko, salamat sa inyo. Naka-ipon ako ng 20k mahigit. Dahil dyan, gusto ko po i -hare ang blessings na binigay niyo sa akin ngayong pasko. Gusto po ipaalam sa inyo na hindi lang ako ang natulungan niyo. Marami po kami kaya maraming salamat po. Papakita ko po sa inyo kung anong plano ko ditto. Ayaw ko solohin ito. Hind hadlang ang kahirapan para makatulong sa kapwa lalo na ngayong Christmas.”

The problem with rich people sometimes is that they feel so highly of themselves. They wouldn’t allow themselves to eat at the same table as their servants. A netizen witnessed this discrimination firsthand and decided to take a photo of it.

Entitled People

There is no denying that housemaids are often victims of maltreatment and discrimination, both here and abroad. Blame it on tradition or their sense of entitlement, many employers feel that just because they pay the maids a hefty salary, they have also earned the right to humiliate them and treat them badly.

Not to generalize, but there are many employers who think so highly of themselves and so lowly of their maids. They treat them without respect and often humiliate them in front of people.

Insensitive

In a post shared on Facebook by netizen Cey Budomo, he was at the mall when he saw a family eating at a restaurant. What caught his attention and caused him to seethe in anger was the fact that the family was earnestly eating while their housemaid was made to sit beside them and watch them eat.



We Filipinos are very hospitable and we highly value our Ethics and the way we treat other people. So, Budomo was aghast when he saw that the maid was left to watch and were not given any food while her employers are munching their meals.

Sound Advice

In his post, the irate netizen advised those people who have housemaids to treat their employees humanely and with kindness. He said that if the employers don’t intend to feed the maid, then it would be better not to allow them to join the table, for etiquette’s sake.

And for those people who just couldn’t treat their housemaids kindly, it would be better not to hire one. Because housemaids, poor as they are, are still human beings and deserve to be treated as such.

During the coronavirus pandemic, most ride-hailing apps were suspended as per the enhanced community quarantine guidelines. In spite of this, the ride-hailing app Angkas is still providing service during the coronavirus outbreak. But this time, instead of offering rides, they are offering to buy goods and groceries for the people who can't get out of home.

By doing this, Angkas is not only suffering from a massive loss of profit, but they are also risking the lives of their driver for the sake of other people's service. At this time, you would think that people will appreciate Angkas' service. Unfortunately, that's not always the case.


Earlier this week, an Angkas driver gained the sympathy of the people on social media after a failed order. On a Facebook post, a concerned citizen shared the heartbreaking incident that happened to this Angkas driver, which resulted in him losing almost Php 7,000.

According to the post, the Angkas driver bought Php 7000-worth of medicines and groceries at Mercury Drug Store.

Since the order was cash-on-delivery, the driver will be receiving the payment after delivering it to the customer. However, after he was done with the purchase, the customer canceled the order!



This left the Angkas driver with more than Php7000-worth of goods that nobody wants to buy. In the photos, you can see the disappointment of the driver, who had no idea how he was going to take the items back. He tried to return it to Mercury drug, but due to their policies, they can no longer refund the items.

As expected, many netizens were enraged with the customer who canceled the order. Some are even calling for a permanent ban to customers who cancel orders, in order to save the time and effort of our Angkas drivers.

Ayon pa sa nag-upload ng mga larawan na si Fhieljoy Valdez Curiba sa kaniyang Facebook post at sinabi niyang nagtataka siya kung bakit ito kumakain sa labas ng kanilang paaralan at nasa likod pa sa punong kahoy ito kumakain.

Ayon pa ni Curiba parang nadudurog daw ang kaniyang dibdib ng makita niyang toyo at suka lang ang ulam ng bata at kaya daw sa labas lang ito kumakain dahil baka daw nahihiya lang ito sa kaniyang mga kaklase dahil sa kaniyang ulam.
"Nag sakit akong dughan nakakita aning bataa nalabyan nku daplin kalsada naniudto,,nagpalayo tawn siya sa ilang eskwelahan nagkaon kay maulaw tingale siya sa iyang sud an."

It's pretty hard to believe this because of those issues and incidents they're involved but there are still some good drivers that exist. This driver definitely proves that not all drivers are the same and can do good to others, especially on their passengers.

Recently, a netizen shared the story behind the viral photo of a senior citizen inside a public jeepney on the Facebook page of Billy Crawford.



Stated in the caption of the post, the senior citizen was paying her fare when the driver asked her if she’s a senior citizen and who she’s with. When the passenger told him that she’s alone and that she’s a senior, the jeepney driver immediately returned the fare that confused her. When the passenger asked, the driver simply said that he does it to senior citizens.

The conversation goes like this:

Lola: Bayad ho
Jeepney driver: Señior citizen ho kayo?
Lola: oho.
Jeepney driver: May kasama ho kayo?
Lola: wala ho
Jeepney driver: *returning back the money to the old lady* Wag na ho kayo magbayad
Lola: Ha? Bakit?
Jeepney driver: *smiling* Kung wala po kayong kasama kahit ilan pa kayong señior citizen dito sa jeep ko basta hindi kayo magkakilala, nililibre ko. Ang sarap kaya tumulong. Para pag tanda ko, meron din tutulong sa akin!

Netizens shared their admiration and ended up praising the driver. Some also claimed that they were inspired by him.

A story from a Facebook post broke a lot of hearts online as she posted the daily struggle of an old man who chooses to still work with his pedicab despite of his weak body, because of being left with no choice.

He has no one to support his wife and himself.


On a post from Joana Karyl Alforte Arce, what the man told her upon asking why he stilll works.


“Kaya ko naman kaso mabagal lang kasi malakas ang hangin’, ‘Dami nga nag rereklamo minsan kasi mabagal daw pero kailangan ko kasi wala ako pambili ng bigas.”

Joana was not able to provide the old man's information but under her post was a comment revealing the pedicab driver’s identity.

He is Fernando Villagonza, 75 years old and drives around the streets of some small town in Cavite.


Aside from the calls of the netizens to give Lolo Fernando some patience when they are riding his pedicab, they were also able to raise attention enough to fund him some groceries that made the old man genuinely happy.

Little did she know that the eyebrow pencil she was using the exact moment she was riding a taxi while on her way home is going to ruin her face for the rest of her life.



Apparently, while she was applying some colors on her brows, the taxi accidentally crushed on a pick up truck that caused its front to get totally broken.

Due to this, a massive force from the accident cause another tragedy on the back seat, where the lady stabbed her eye by the pencil and got stuck inside for almost half of its length.

She was immediately rushed to the Hospital and underwent an operation. Fortunately, according to the doctors,she is now doing good and her condition was not too critical as the pencil got stuck on the white part of her eye. (sclera)





The pencil was successfully removed and the lady is now doing okay.

As for the taxi driver, he is also safe from the accident aside from the several injuries he got.
