24-year-old Matthew Langley was skin and bones and only a few days away from death when he was rescued in their home in Sheffield.

According to the reports, his mom and step-father were imprisoned for locking him in the attic for seven months. What made it even worse is that they starved hom.

43-year-old Lorna Hewitt and her husband Craig who’s 42 years of age, were arrested after they were found guilty of falsely imprisoning Matthew in the attic.

When Matthew was rescued, he was extremely dehydrated and only weight six stones. The room where he was locked in was covered both in vomit and feces.

Judge Michael Slater described the mother’s actions towards the autistic son as ‘a grave abuse of trust between a mother and her son’ during the sentencing that was held at the Sheffield Crown Court.

The judge also added, “You were the primary carer for Matthew with all his difficulties and challenges.

“It makes it all the more inexplicable to me that for those seven months you failed to provide him with the support and provision of food and drink that he craved and needed.”

The couple who were arrested denied that they have locked Matthew in their home for seven months. However, after the trial, they were both found guilty.

In addition to that, the couple were also guuilty of causing a vulnerable adult to suffer serious phsyical harm.

The moment he was rescued, Matthew was rushed to the hospital ICU in what they had described as a pitiable state. Furthermore, abrasions on his body indicated that he had been moving around on all corners of the attic.

Due to being locked and imprisoned in thhe attic for seven months, Matthew had suffered a damage to a kidney due too the high sodium levels related to severe dehydration.

Nicholas Campbell said, “His sodium levels were dangerously high. They measured 180.

“hey were so high they could shut down his brain and kill him. Anything above 145, there is a real chance of death.

“The Home Office pathologist examined the injuries and said the abrasions and bruises were consistent in his view with Matthew having been crawling on all fours over objects in his path.”

Aside from feces and vomit, the police also found noted that there were flies and foul smell in the room whre Matthew was found.

Before Matthew was locked in the attic, he weighed 8.5 stones. However, after the tragic imprisonment, his weight dropped into six stones.

The good news is Mr. Campbel said that Matthew has made a good physical recovery all thanks to the medical staffs who had taken care of him and when he was discharged from the hospital he already weighed 8.6 stones.

Meanwhile, Miss Tana Adkin saidd that Mr. Craig Hewitt showed a significant change when he was sentenced in the court.

She said, “He is devastated about what happened to Mathew. He is not a deliberately cruel man in the sense that the courts see and have seen in the past.

“He is not someone that would punish Matthew for his autism.”

However, the judge refuse to believe the characterisations.

“You were complicit equally with wife Lorna Hewitt in care effectively being switched off to any degree for Matthew as he was locked in his room and starved of food.”

“That did not occur by negligence, it did not occur by recklessness. It was a plan between the pair of you.

“I’m quite satisfied that nothing in that household occurred without either you knowing about it or approving of it.”

Judge then address Lorna Hewitt and said, “It is argued on your behalf that you were particularly vulnerable and suggestible at the time.”

“I had the benefit of observing you give evidence in the trial over the course of several days.

“It did not seem to me that you were not capable of standing up for yourself or that you were particularly suggestible. You were both an articulate, temperate and thoughtful witness.”

He then continued and said that what his mom cooked taste really good and when he told his mom about it, he finally saw a smile on her face.

“Sabi ko nga masarap naman luto niya e. Tapos yun ngumiti na. Pero masarap talaga sya nawalan lang ng sabaw. Wag kana malungkot Ma. I love you.”

Ruru Madid met an accident while on the set of the upcoming primetime adventure-action series of GMA 7 entitled “Lolong.” The whole production team of the upcoming show has decided to let the Kapuso actor rest for the mean time while still int he lock-in taping. According to Ruru Madrid, he suffered a minor fracture on his right foot while performing an action stunt for “Lolong” which is set to air in the GMA network soon.

The Kapuso actor also added that while doing the stunt, he got out of balance in one of the scenes and it affected his right foot badly. He even said that he wanted to make a perfect scene but then, due to the lack of time, he exerted all his effort in one take.

“Medyo nag-alangan ako kasi parang gusto ko pang i-perfect yung scene. Medyo nakulangan sa taas ng talon ko so sabi ko, ‘In this take, tataasan ko na siya,’” Ruru Madrid said in an interview wth 24 Oras.

Ruru Madrid continued and said that he was shocked as well by what he did and took a bad fall that twisted his right foot.

“Habang ginagawa ko siya, nagulat ako doon sa sarili ko na ganoon kataas yung take off ko.

“Kaya pagbagsak ko, unexpected nabigla kong na-twist yung right foot ko. Di ko kayang tumayo dahil sa sobrang sakit,” Ruru added.

Since Ruru Madrid took a really bad fall, the medical staff were quick to respond to provide immediate medical care. Ruru Madrid was rushed to the nearest hospital.

The results of the X-ray showed that he suffered a minor fracture on his foot. Ruru was then advised to rest for two to six weeks.

Ruru then said that he feels bad for the days that would be wasted for his rest, instead of finishing the shoot of the show that now only requires a few scenes.

Despite what happened, Ruru Madrid thanked the whole production team and his co-actors for understanding the situation.

“I’m very sad. Ayoko po kasi ng because of me, made-delay yung trabaho but hindi naman po ‘yon pinaramdam ng mga tao po dito sa set,” Ruru said.

The young Kapuso actor then promised that he’s more than willing to do anything and everything to recover as quickly as possible so that they can continue filming for the show and finally be able to finish the shoot.

According to Ogie Diaz, Kiko Estrada was suddenly removed from Darna for not showing up on the next cycle of the taping.

“Ha? Bakit ano ba ang role n’ya?” Mama Loi asked.

According to the reports, Kiko’s role belongs in a love triangle between Joshua Garcia and Jane De Leon.

“Ang balita sa akin ay love triangle raw siya ni Joshua (Garcia) ni Jane de Leon bilang si Narda at si Darna,” Ogie said.

Mama Loi was shocked and even said that with his role, it would appear like he has the same importance with Joshua and Jane.

“Kaya nga nangarag sila (production team) kaya bigla-bigla na lamang silang kumuha ng kapalit at ang nahanap nila ay si Paolo Gumabao. In fairness okay din naman na choice ‘yun. Pero di ba, wala namang maliit na role?” Ogie added

Ogie Diaz then recalled the late veteran actor Eddie Garcia who will accept whatever role is given to him for as long as his name belongs in the cast of either a show or a movie.

Ogie then continued and said, “Si Kiko gusto yata parang off-beat na ibang klase na feeling niya ay big break sa kanya baka hindi niya ‘yun naramdaman.”

Mama Loi got curious and asked a followup question on Kiko’s sudden disappearance from the next cycle of the taping.

“Pero ‘Nay ‘yung sinabi mong bigla na lang siyang hindi um-attend (taping) ano ‘yung walang pasabi, walang paalam? On the day of the lock in hindi na lang siya dumating?” Mama Loi asked.

“Paano magpapaalam, e, bigla rin naman siyang nag-resign. Kaya nagkukumahog silang makahanap ng kapalit. Pero kapag ganyan alam mo sa isang istasyon sa akin lang ha (opinyon) pag nag-attitude ka mamarkahan ka nila.

“Mamarkahan ka ng production, mamarkahan ka ng network. Kaya posible na hindi ka nga ban pero may silent ban. May mga ganyan kasi minsan ayaw na nilang maka-trabaho ‘yung mga ganu’n na napaka-unprofessional. Pero hindi naman natin alam kung ano naman ‘yung dahilan ni Kiko,” Ogie Diaz continues.

Ogie then noted that as a producer and a manager, he wouldn’t want to work with someone like him for it will only cause stress.

Ogie then continued and said, “Kung anuman ang rason ni Kiko sana ay hindi niya pinagsisihan pero ‘yung biglaang pagre-resign kung totoo man ito na sana ay hindi pero kung totoo man, e, parang hindi yata maganda dapat ahead of time. Saka kung na-establish na ‘yung karakter ang hirap no’n ah.”‘

Mama Loi and Ogie Diaz then took notice of the fact that Kiko’s actions made it difficult for everyone for they had to retake all the scenes that included him.

Furthermore, Ogie said that somehow, Kiko Estrada went on hiatus on social media.

A lot of people think that cats are just lazy pets who does nothing but lay around all day and ask for food. However, those who think that cats are lazy clearly haven’t met the little cat named Sir Whines-A-Lot. Why, you ask?

Apparently, Mr. Whines-A-Lot has been stealing cash from strangers!

Mr. Whines-A-Lot is a rescue cat who has been living in the office of Tulsa-based marketing firm GuRuStu and his antics shocked the founder Stuart McDaniel. It all happened when Stuart came to work one morning and found money by the door where the little cat hangs out.

“It kept happening, but we didn’t know why. So we decided to test a theory,” Stuart said

“We tried sliding money through the gap in the door, and the cat hopped up and snatched it,” He added.

Stuart was really curious as to where the money is coming from and as it turns out, the little cat has been encouraging the passers-by to play with him by the door. What makes it surprising is that they had been using dollar bills as cat toys.

“I’m guessing the first people didn’t intend to lose their dollar,” McDaniel said.

“They probably put it in to mess with him, and he snatched it. When you hold money there, he’ll bat at it playfully at first, like, ‘Oh, that’s kinda fun.’ But then all of a sudden he’ll bite it and rip it from your hand. He does it so fast, you don’t even realize what’s happened.”

Mr. Whines-A-Lot stole more and more money from the strangers who visit their office. Stuart then decided to use the money and do something good with it.

Stuart decided to donate the money to charity, specifically the one that helps the homeless people in their city. He thought that the homeless should benefit from it since Mr. Whines-A-Lot was also once a homeless.

“He was homeless once, so it seems fitting,” McDaniel said.

According to Stuart, they have already raised over $100 and donated it under Mr. Whines-A-Lot’s pseudonym, CASHnip Kitty.

“Cashnip Kitty is a hustler with a philanthropic heart. He will snatch your money and donate it to the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless. Cashnip Kitty says, “Slide a dollar through the slot and great blessings will follow”, says on the Facebook page of CASHnip Kitty.

The veteran broadcaster and former press secretary Ricardo Puno, Jr. dies at the age of 76 on February 15, 2022.

The passing of Ricardo Puno, Jr. was confirmed by his family at around twelve noon.

According to the reports, the lawyer, columnist and veteran broadcaster has been in and out of the hospital as his illness progressed.

Despite that he has been in and out of the hospital, his brother said that his death was still a surprise to the family since he has just returned after being confined and already appeared to be getting better.

“The family is grieving, hindi namin expected talaga,” Ronaldo said over the phone.

Dong Puno became one of the most popular broadcaster in the mid-1980s because of his talkshow “Viewpoint” aired on GMA.

Aside from GMA-7, Dong Puno also became one of the most-sought after hosts of the public affairs programs in ABS-CBN, and TV5.

His career started with GMA-7 in 1984 and ended in 1994 with the show Business Today. Meanwhile, in the ABS-CBN network, he was a part of the Dong Puno Live (1995-2005), Dong Puno Tonight (2003), and Insider (2005-2006).

In addition to that, Dong Puno also became a senior vice president of the ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs.

After his career in ABS-CBN, he became a part of the TV5 and Aksyon TV where he was seen in the shows, Kalibre 41 (2011), News5 Debates: Hamon Sa Pagbabago (2011-2013), and Dong Puno De Kalibre (2011-2013).

Meanwhile, Dong Puno’s co-worker in the broadcast industry, Rico Hizon of CNN Philippines admitted that he will never be where he is right now if it wasn’t for Dong Puno.

“Atty Ricardo “Dong” Puno—mentor, boss, friend, colleague and co-host my heart bleeds that you are no longer with us. I wouldn’t be in broadcast news without you.

“Thank you for believing in me. You will forever have a special place in my heart. Rest well Atty Dong, you will be missed. My deepest sympathies to Tita Christy and the family.”

Cristy Fermin and her attorney didn’t wait until February 16, the deadline given by Dawn Chang’s legal team for the public apology that they’ve been demanding from her.

Instead, Cristy Fermin and her attorney Atty. Ferdinand Topacio responded to the legal counsel of Dawn Chang and demanded that they should be the one to issue a public apology for the words they have used against the columnist.

On February 12, Dawn Chang’s legal counsel released a demand letter in a publication wherein Dawn Chang’s team is asking for a public apology from Cristy Fermin and if they failed to release one, they send her to jail.

It all started with the statements of Nanay Cristy Fermin in her radio program “Cristy Ferminute” aired in Radyo5 92.3 News FM, OnePH and in Cignal Play app. In the said episode of Cristy Ferminute, the columnist reacted to Dawn Chang’s statements against the Kapamilya star Toni Gonzaga.

Cristy Fermin defended Toni Gonzaga against Dawn Chang and said that she’s willing to release all the things that Dawn Chang did to get where she is right now.

Here are the exact words from Cristy Fermin, “Alam mo raw kung sino na pa-righteous at sikat nitong Dawn Chang? Di ba, yun yung dancer? Iyan ‘yung dancer.

“Dancer iyan na nasa ano dati, sa lunchtime show nila. Itong si Dawn Chang, kaya nagkakaroon ng mga trabaho iyan, alam na alam sa ABS…

“Ako, Dawn Chang, gusto mong ibulgar ko kung ba’t ka nagkakaroon ng trabaho?

“E, pa-bash bash ka pa, ikaw ang dapat i-bash, dahil wala kang mararating kung di ka nakikipaglandian sa mga boss, naku, ha.

“Dawn Chang, tumigil ka nga. Dawn Chang me. Charot!”

Dawn Chang’s attorney saud that they have the right to react and ask for a public apology because what Cristy Fermin said is an act of slander.

However, Cristy Fermin’s legal team didn’t bat an eye and instead, asked for a public apology as well for they have called Cristy Fermin a coward and liar for her statements. They also emphasized that it was wrong for Dawn Chang’s team to say that they will be sendig Cristy Fermin to Jail.

Here’s a statement from the letter of Cristy Fermin’s legal counsel:

“Our client, Ms. CRISTINELLI SALAZAR FERMIN, a.k.a. Cristy Fermin, has referred to us your undated “statement” released to media, which we take as an open letter of demand, for her to make a public apology in relation to utterances made regarding your client, a certain Dawn Chang, who appears to be a dancer and show business personality.

“Ms. Fermin will respond to your demand in due time, and also publicly. We write this letter, however, to make a demand of our own, regarding some statements made by you as lawyer of Ms. Chang.

“In your signed public statement – shorn of irrelevant discourses — you called our client a “coward” and a liar, saying that her statements are “nakakahiya”, using the word “gutter” to describe Ms. Fermin, describing her expressions as “malaking kabastusan.” Worse, you strongly implied that you have control of the Philippine justice system when you bragged that “we assure you, we will send you to jail.””

The legal counsel also added that it’s ironic that they are complaining about a libel against Dawn Chang when in reality, they have committed the same crime against Cristy Fermin.

“Therefore, let us be the one to give you, Atty. Rafael Vicente R. Calinisan, a deadline of until midnight of 16 February 2022, within which to PUBLICLY APOLOGIZE to our client who, it cannot be denied, is already considered an icon in the field of entertainment media, and who has been a writer and radio and television personality for several decades.

“Unlike you, however, we do not demand the publication of your apology in a full-page ad in any newspaper. We simply demand a letter of apology from you, which you and she may share with media.”

As of this writing, Dawn Chang and her team are yet to release a statement against the letter sent by the legal team of Cristy Fermin.

Andi Eigenmann shared how excited she is that she’s finally going back home in Siargao Island.

Following the massive destruction caused by Typhoon Odette, Andi Eigenmann along with her children, stayed in Manila for a couple of weeks.

On February 11, Willie Revillame formally bid goodbye to the network during the finale live broadcast of the variety show Wowowin.

According to the reports, Willie Revillame no longer signed the contract with the Kapuso network due to the fact that he will soon be transferring to the Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc. (AMBS).

Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc. (AMBS) is owned by the former senator Manny Villar. The government granted the AMBS the TV frequency that was formerly owned by the ABS-CBN who lost its franchise in 2020.

Willie Revillame’s show Wowowin aired in the Kapuso network for a total of six years and eight months.

Before Willie Revillame bid goodbye in Wowowin, he clarified the fake news that the Kapuso Network didn’t offer to renew his contract since he’s been in contact with the AMBS.

Willie Revillame said, “Kaya yung mga nagsasabi na walang kontrata, huwag ho kayong maniniwala kung kani-kanino. Sa akin lang kayo maniwala.”

To prove that he’s spitting nothing but the truth, Willie showd the copy of contract that GMA-7 has given to him with a validity until February 2023. However, Willie refused to sign the said contract.

“More than a month, nasa akin na po ang kontrata.

“Actually po, ang kontrata, three months before, inaalam na po ng kompanya kung magre-renew ka pa.

“Para ho yung mga haka-haka ninyo na pinagsasabi ninyo ng kung anu-ano, ito ang totoo.

“Nag-usap ho kami ni Senator [Manny] Villar [noong February 2], ang sabi niya, ‘May frequency, may franchise, puwede na.’

“Pero ang sabi ko, ‘Ano ho ba ang plano niyo?’ Wala pa siyang plano, zero, kasi wala raw siyang alam sa industriyang ito, that’s why kinausap niya ako.

“Sabi ko, ‘Mabigat ho iyan. Una sa lahat, ano ang kailangan natin? Lalabas kayo ng frequency, wala kayong transmitter. Walang transmitter, e, yun ho ang nagbibigay ng signal sa buong Pilipinas. Isang problema po ‘yan.’

“Another problem is wala naman tayong concept, wala naman tayong content ng programa. Magmula sa umaga hanggang madaling-araw, anong ipapalabas? So, zero na naman.

“Para malaman niyo lang, wala pa hong plano kasi pinag-aaralan pa lang. Pinag-aaralan ng kanyang pamilya, pinag-aaralan pa rin ho ng kanyang anak na si Sir Paolo,” he said.

Sir Paolo is the current president-CEO of Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc., which is only one of the many businesses by the Villar family.

“Iyan ho ang katotohanan, wala hong plano pa kasi hindi ho ganoon kadaling magbukas ng isang channel.

“Saka, saan ang studio nila? Saan magso-show? Hindi ho ganoon kadali. It will take time.

“Ngayon, yung sinasabi ninyo na may kinakausap na silang artista. May kinakausap na kaming lahat na artista. May sinasabi na kinukuha si ganito, hindi po totoo iyan.

“Ako po ang makikipag-usap kahit kanino at hindi ko iyan gagawin hangga’t nandito ako sa GMA-7, at wala pa kaming usapan kung ano ang deal namin ni Senator Manny Villar,” he added.

The veteran actor and host also confirmed that he didn’t sign the contract out of delicadeza.

Bakit hindi po ako pumirma? Una, por delicadeza. Magso-show ako sa GMA habang ako naman ho ay nagpaplano sa isang istasyon na kalaban ng GMA.

“Hindi ho tama iyon. Sa sobrang bait ho ng mga taga-GMA, sa sobrang bait na ipinakita nila sa akin, hindi ko ho magagawa na traydurin sila.

“Isipin niyo, por delicadeza at respeto ko kay Mr. [Felipe] Gozon, sa lahat dito. Nagso-show ako araw-araw dito, pero after nagmi-meeting ako sa kabilang channel?

“Hindi ko ho kayang gawin iyon kaya ako, kahit ang bigat sa loob ko, isang paa ko naka-forward, isang paa ko hindi ko maigalaw dahil ang bigat.

“Napamahal na ho sa akin ang mga tao dito. Wala akong naging problema dito for six years and eight months,” Willie clarifies.

Meanwhile, in a zoom meeting interview in February 3, Willie Revillame expressed how grateful he is for everyone who had been part of Wowowin including those who have been supporting them since day one.

Enchong Dee voluntarily surrendered himself on the National Bureau of Investigation on January 31 over the cyber libel case filed against him by the Drivers United for Mass Progress and Equal Rights (DUMPER) party list representative Claudine Bautista-Lim.

Reports stated that Encchong Dee surrendered himself after the authorities failed to serve his arrest warrant in his declared address in Cubaco, Quezon City. Further reports stated that the address in Cubao, Quezon City was not the actor’s address.

According to a report by ABS-CBN, Enchong Dee posted a P48,000 bail for him to be released. Enchong Dee also clarified on social media that he did not made any attempt to evade arrest and was more than willing to take all the necessary legal action for him against the complaint.

It was back in December 2021 when Enchong Dee was indicted with cyber libel for posting tweets about the luxurious wedding of Drivers United for Mass Progress and Equal Rights (DUMPER) Representative Claudine Diana Bautista-Lim.

Enchong Dee is only one of the few celebrities who criticized the congresswoman for hosting such luxurious wedding despite the pandemic we’re currently in.

Enchong wrote on Twitter, “The money for commuters and drivers went to her wedding. Let’s not prolong this conversation and don’t say otherwise.”

After receiving a backlash from his tweet, Enchong Dee immediately issued an apology for what he had wrote and said he had a lapse in judgment.

The 1-billion peso cyber libel case was formally filled as a complaint back in November 2021 claiming that his tweet was defamatory and malicious.

A lot of people believe that Enchong Dee really deserves the complaint filed against him because of how he ruined the congresswoman’s reputation on social media. However, the same people also stated that one billion peso is to much for a cyber libel case.

On Saturday, February 5, GMA-7 Network made a public announcement that Willie Revillame’s contract was no longer renewed and that his show will only be airing on February 11.

According to the reports, Willie Revillame’s contract is bound to end on February 15 and that his show in GMA will be having its final airing on February 11. The question is, why was his contract not renewed?

While others are asking why his contact was no longer renewed, Willie Revillame was in a private meeting with former Senator Manny Villar and Congresswoman Camille Villar.

On the same day when the announcement of his contract was posted, Willie’s choreographer in Wowowin posted a series of photos on social media showing Willie with Manny Villar and Camille Villar.

The photos were posted with a caption: “Thank you former Sen. Manny Villar and Cong. Camille Villar for the visit.”

With the latest photos of Willie Revillame with Manny Villar, the netizens can’t help but wonder if they are already talking about Willie Revillame’s transfer to the Advanced Media Broadcasting Systems of Former Senator Manny Villar.

On that same day, Anna Feliciano posted the announcement of GMA about Willie’s contract. The photo was posted with the caption: “When something ends, something starts. Sana hindi nyo kami iwan.”

It appears that they are showing signs of Willie’s transfer to another network.

Meanwhile, Manay Lolit Solis released a statement regarding the controversy involving Willie Revillame.

On Instagram, Lolit Solis revealed that it’s unfair to say that Willie left GMA-7 when in reality, he left because his contract was not renewed.

“Walang paghahabol na naganap, walang alok na ibinigay, basta end of contract, iyon na,” Lolit Solis said

“Ang maliwanag, tinapos ng GMA-7 ang kontrata kay Willie at walang alok na bago, kaya hayun, kailangang maghanap ng bagong bahay ang programa niya.

“Huwag ng ibahin pa ang istorya na dahil may VILLAR kaya umalis si Willie…” She added.
