BREAKING: Ramon Revilla Sr., pumanaw na sa edad na 93

Veteran actor turned politician Ramon Revilla Sr. bid his goodbye at the age of 93 last night, June 27.

His son, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. announced during a Facebook live as they document the last moments of the patriarch of the Revilla clan.

“Wala na po ang tatay ko,” the senator announced.

“Please pray for him.” He added.

Ramon Revilla Sr. started his acting career way back 50s, and had always dreamed of becoming an actor.

Being a young man who is new to showbiz, Revilla did land on several roles and tried his best to get noticed by directors and producers.

Due to his passion for his craft, he had his first known movie was Pepeng Saclaw in 1951.

Revilla then left show business for awhile to serve as a senior intelligence officer at the Bureau of Customs from 1965 to 1972. It was his very first time doing a government work.

Later on, he made a showbiz comeback in 1969 with the movie, Naghimala.

His next project the following year, however, would be his breakthrough movie.

Nardong Putik: Kilabot ng Cavite propelled Ramon to stardom as a legitimate action star.

From then, he became one of the pillars of the action film industry along with Joseph Estrada and “Da King” Fernando Poe Jr.

By 1992, Revilla won a senatorial slot and served until 2004.

Some of the laws he passed during his tenure were the Public Works Act, amendment to the Dangerous Drugs Act, the Children’s Media Act, and amendment to the Family Code Law, which allows illegitimate children to use the surname of their biological fathers.

Revilla had around 72 biological children from at least 16 different women.

During his interview with Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho in 2004, he admitted that his mistakes from his youth gave him a lot of realizations afterwards.

He celebrated his last Father’s day on his rancho in Cavite, where his family threw an intimate party for him.
